Gold, HUI, and stocks

This is an interesting chart that shows the recent performance of gold, HUI, and some of the quality gold stocks.

Gold itself is up but as you can see it has not does a lot in recent times. The HUI is definitely lagging behind and does the raise the question of is it leading gold? We actually don’t think so but it is worth watching all the same.

The quality gold stocks though show that they are actually performing with Agnico eagle, Yamana and Kinross all out-performing the index.

So now it is time to do some pruning, out goes US Gold, we are just not convinced that this stock will move higher when the gold price heads north.

We are however working on a number of other gold mining investments and will post these shortly.
