Yamana Gold Incorporated: Declares July Dividend!

One of our favourite gold stocks, Yamana Gold Incorporated, has just announced that the company will be making a dividend payment for the month of July, payable on the 14th August 2008.

In a statement on the company’s web site they had this to say:


“TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/16/08 -- YAMANA GOLD INC. (TSX: YRI)(NYSE: AUY)(LSE: YAU) today announced its July 2008 monthly dividend of US$0.01 per share. Shareholders of record at the close of business on Thursday, July 31, 2008 will be entitled to receive payment of this dividend on Thursday, August 14, 2008. The dividend is an "eligible dividend" for Canadian tax purposes.”

This is not a fantastic amount of money however we are grateful for small mercies and hopefully it will add some joy to the day for the Yamana’s investors.

Yamana Gold Incorporated has a market capitalisation of $9.97 billion, a P/E ratio of 37.69 with 677.90 million shares outstanding.

Yamana Gold Incorporated trades as AUY on the NYSE and as YRI in Toronto.
