Thanks Bob, over the holidays I will plan on that...I had a record year producing numbers, right now it's "take advantage of the mild weather and ship, ship, ship"...how do I do that? Upon hatching a clutch of baby Ball pythons, they're housed individually in properly heated Rubbermade 6 quart tubs and fed several meals over about a month...actual shipping, baby goes into ventilated deli cup...over several layers of bubble-wrap...cup is securely positioned next to a 40 hour slow-heat-generation heat pack..all remaining space is filled with small pieces of equipment customer may order such as custom-made heat pad, feeding forceps, etc then filled in with styro peanuts, in appropriate-sized, properly-ventilated styro box/cardboard-outer then overnight FedEx'ed or UPS'ed, all planned well in advance. A lot more than goes into shipping physical metal. I take the time to educate customer to make sure we're on the same page care-wise for the baby(s) so they don't 'rock the boat'...then offer a 30-day feeding/health/sex guarantee on them, the best guarantee in the industry by far. and have been doing that for many years. A few sellers try to copy that guarantee but can't for various reasons.
I have started offering "reptile bullion" on THE major reptile web site...Kingsnake.com...I'm the only one doing so as of yet...still only sporadic interest in metals by my niche population...people will spend $5000 on a snake that will depreciate in value...and could kack any day (the money is made in breeding and producing babies), but only a very few are putting any money yet into physical metal...90-95% still turn a deaf ear to my efforts to educate them in my ad on that website...no different than the general population...but they will sooner-come-later, and I will be ready when they do... when a silver coin that sold for $20-25 just 2 years ago, sells for $40-50 today, and will exceed $100 in another 1-2 years...
