Gold ownership not Ottawa’s issue: Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited
The federal government should not determine the ownership of gold companies, the head of Agnico-Eagle Mines says.
"I don't think the government should be involved in the gold industry and who ends up owning these companies. We're headquartered in Toronto, this is our home, but we own assets around the world," CEO Sean Boyd tells BNN.
"We're contributing to the economies of Finland, we're contributing to the economies of Mexico. Those governments do not put up roadblocks because we're Canadian. So, the market should ultimately decide who should own this and the government should stay out of it," he says
