Obama to nominate Yellen for Fed chair

Yellen will face Senate for confirmation

By Greg Robb, MarketWatch

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — President Barack Obama will nominate Janet Yellento replace Ben Bernanke as chairman of the Federal Reserve, a White House official said Tuesday, in a move that many expect will result in a continuation of the central bank’s loose monetary policy.

Obama will introduce Yellen at a 3 p.m. Eastern ceremony at the White House Wednesday, the official said. Yellen currently serves as vice chairman of the central bank.

Stock futures SPZ3 +0.35%   advanced Tuesday night after news of the impending nomination, following a session of sharp selling as the government shutdown continued.

If confirmed by the Senate, Yellen, 67, will be the first woman to run the Fed, one of the world’s most important economic posts.

With gold, silver and Uranium stocks being out of favor one must decide if this is a problem or an opportunity. We have steadfastly refused to buy gold and silver mining stocks for the last two years and as evidenced by the HUI we feel that our decision to hold back has been vindicated. The damage done to the mining sector may not be over yet but this demise is starting to offer up some exciting opportunities in my view.

Great care will be needed in the selection process in order to generate a reasonable profit and that’s where our new venture begins. ‘Stock Trader’ has begun trading on behalf of ourselves and our much valued subscribers, all exciting stuff which we are really looking forward to, if you wish to join us then please subscribe below;

Meet the new boss...same as the old boss.

Interview question: "Can you press PRINT?"

Janet: "Yes."

"Well then, you're qualified."

"WILL you press PRINT?"

"Absolutely! REPEATEDLY, like Pavlov's dog. It's actually ALL I know how to do."

"You're hired!"

Two quick questions:

If I were to give you the following series of words:

FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL

What do you think the next word in the series in likely to be? FAIL maybe?

Every single fiat currency ever created has failed. Numbering in the several hundreds if not in the thousands.

So...what if I extended the word string by several hundred entries and every single entry read FAIL Does that guarantee that the next word in the string will be FAIL? No. Would you be a fool to bet against it? Uh huh.

So, what are the chances this particular experiment in fiat currency issuance reads SUCCEED?

Well ... Opuppet didn't appoint Jim Grant, now, did he?

Ha. No. I really don't care who the chairsatan is. Just a cog in the wheel.

Something tells me I'll have a visceral dislike for Ms. Y before too long, though.

Kinda like Al Gore. So skeevy. Just looking at the guy or hearing him talk produced instant revulsion. Thank god the arctic icecap is still with us but he's wandering in the wilderness.

I see this appointment as being even more dovish, so we could get more QE instead of Tapering....
